19th week ultrasound – blessing from God

This snapshot was made at our 19th week ultrasound.

You should have seen her/him singing in the live ultrasound! Seeing the 4 chambered heart (and listening to it), seeing all five fingers and toes, and of course this profile…I can’t wait. Doc says this baby gave him almost all the unusual pictures he learned about in school but hardly ever sees (especially all in one ultrasound). Says all is going great too.
Just in case you have a problem understanding what you’re looking at (you’re not the first…), but this is a profile pic, just like when you were in elementary school and the teacher would have you stand in front of the overhead projector and turn sideways so she could draw the outline, or profile, of you onto black construction paper (remember those?).
Heather has just started feeling the baby move within the past few days. Things are moving right along with a huge scoop of blessing from God. Hard to image that anyone could not see this baby as a living human being – with fullness of life. Thanks God, this is awesome.

  1. Oh how exciting. Is this your first baby? I have to ask because I just moved to East GA—Actually, I think I live more northeast…are you and your wife anywhere near Athens?

  2. Yes this is our first…after what seemed a very long period of what the doctors called the dreaded infertility. We were off birth control for at least 2 years before going on some fertility meds…of which took 6 months before this pregnancy. We’re very grateful for God’s provision.

Yes…we are in Elberton…which is sort of more east than north-east of Athens (about 45 minutes or so). It’s been good. First Baptist has been a good and healing place for both of us…after previous ministry experiences with not-so-good outcomes.
