Great choir tonight

I encouraged our choir to be sure to be back to choir tonight because I had something I wanted to share with them. We actually had a rough two months in choir.

Back in August, we moved our Sunday evening service to Wednesday evening to create a mid-week worship service. It began well, but has been dwindling in many ways. There were two things that weren’t considered in this change. Well, actually, one was considered…the fact that choir needed to start at 7:30…which meant that the service needed to be promptly over by 7:30 so we could get rehearsal started. That rarely was the case and has become a little bit of an issue. The other problem was that we had several Wednesdays in a row that had other things going on…3 to be exact…then we had one rehearsal…then we were off for 4 more for December activities and vacation. So, tonight was our first rehearsal back for this next season of worship.

I wanted to speak to the choir about a  deeper consistency in their attendance. Not only was that portion of tonight good, but the following rehearsal of the next several anthems was great as well.

Tomorrow, I will share for you word for word what God led me to say to the choir. Since it dealt with a scriptural application of sacrifice…what God desires from us…it would make a great blog article on worship. CHeck back tomorrow.
